Cluster 3 - Civil Security for Society

This cluster responds to challenges arising from persistent security threats, cybercrime, as well as natural and man-made disasters. It also builds on the lessons learnt from the COVID-19 crisis to improve our answer when facing such events. The development of prevention, preparedness and mitigation procedures is crucial to address such threats to societal security.

The work programme 2023-2024 describes the following destinations:

  • Destination 1. Better protect the EU and its citizens against crime and terrorism;
  • Destination 2. Effective management of EU external borders;
  • Destination 3. Resilient infrastructures;
  • Destination 4. Increased cybersecurity;
  • Destination 5. A disaster-resilient society for Europe;
  • Destination 6. Strengthening security research innovation.
