This cluster is designed to address socio-political, economic and cultural issues. This includes the safeguarding of democratic governance and improving the trust of citizens towards democratic institutions, but also promoting the access to and participation of citizens in our heritage through a focus on cultural and creative industries. The protection and restoration of cultural heritage is also addressed within this cluster. In addition, the cluster focuses on the development of an inclusive society to support the equal growth of human capital.

The work programme 2023-2024 describes the following destinations:

• Destination 2. Innovative research on the European cultural heritage and the cultural and creative industries;
• Destination 3. Innovative research on social and economic transformations.
